The chief characteristics of watercolour is its elusiveness and transparency, and in ‘pure’ watercolour painting, this can be exploited to the full.
I find watercolour a truly evocative medium, loving its versatility and fluidity. A few brush strokes can conjure up a whole atmosphere of space and scale and capture fleeting moments and experiences with power and simplicity.
