Nature in all its glory stirs my emotions and provides me with senses of peace, contentment, tranquillity and awe.

My emotions can be stirred by the beauty of a pastoral scene, an early morning mist with the sun struggling to shine through. I am moved by the lovely evening light; the landscape is going to sleep and it’s so peaceful, a time for contemplation.

I am inspired by an atmospheric wet and wind-blown sky and when the sky is full of grey clouds that indicate an approaching storm; the landscape colours become dull and moody and can often create within me a sense of foreboding and awe.

Water is a source of inspiration, be it motionless, moving, or turbulent.

The reflections in the clear water of a tranquil lake give a mirror image evoking peace and rest.
